Design Process
Using the Double Diamond design process in this project here's my design process and how I went about it
• Discover
In the Discover phase I conducted series of user research, including interviews, observations, and surveys to gain insight into user needs, pain points, and motivations. This stage involves empathy mainly and it helped me understand the problem space and identify opportunities for the design
Define
In the Define phase, focused on synthesizing the research gathered in the Discover phase to create a clear and concise problem statement. I defined the problem in this stage, mapped out the user personas, user journeys, and identifying the opportunities for design.
Develop
In the Develop phase I concentrated on generating a wide range of ideas and concepts that have the potential to solve the problem identified in the Define phase. I also brainstormed and explored different ideas to create prototypes. created a variety of design solutions, including sketches, wireframes, and prototypes. These were then tested and refined based on user feedback.
• Deliver: In the Deliver phase, I focused on testing and refining the ideas and prototypes developed in the previous stages. This stage involves user testing, iteration, and refining the solution to create a final product that solves my original problem statement.
You might want to know why opted for this design process instead of the regular Design Thinking process. I went for the Double Diamond process because it is iterative, which means can go back and forth between the phases until the design is refined and meets the user's needs. It helps reduce the risk of creating a design that is not suitable for the users and ensures that the final design is well thought out and meets the user's
needs.
